West Auckland Band Festival

Our talented concert band travelled to Massey High on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th September to play in the West Auckland Band Festival, which involved concert band members from year 7 to year 11 as well as members of the West City Youth band. After two days of practicing together, the combined band along with the youth band performed a list of exciting pieces from the slow choral hymn "Salvation is created", to the engaging piece "Engines of resistance", which, with help from the brilliant conductors made for a spectacular evening. 

This was also a great opportunity to talk to other young musicians from across west Auckland and to perform with other schools. Overall over the whole two days of practising and performing, it was a fun experience for our concert band and the other participating bands.
