On the 22nd June Charlotte Marriott performed in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House with the Aotea Youth Symphony Orchestra for the 34th Sydney Youth Musicale.
Charlotte has been a member of the orchestra since October 2023 and plays 1st clarinet. The Aotea Youth Symphony Orchestra performed in the 1st half of the evening a programme which included compositions by Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Shostakovich, Leory Anderson as well as the 1st movement of Mozart’s 23rd Piano Concerto for which they were joined by the winner of the West Auckland Piano Concert Competition, Leo Liu.
The 2nd half pf the evening they were able to enjoy a stunning performance by the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony Orchestra who were touring Australia and NZ. The Aotea Youth Symphony Orchestra had also performed in a joint concert with the Colorado Youth Symphony earlier in June in Auckland.
Charlotte thoroughly enjoyed the experience of performing in such a phenomenal performance venue with such incredible acoustics and said she would love to practise there every day.
