On Friday, 20th September, 13 girls from Rutherford College, Years 9 to 13, participated in a Fun Futsal Festival at Bruce Pulman Park in Takanini. The event offered a fun, non-competitive environment for girls to have a go at futsal through small-sided games and enjoy a day out of school. For many of them, it was their first time playing futsal, but all the girls enjoyed their day filled with teamwork, lots of laughs, and a McDonald’s stop on the way home.
It was especially great to see other teams, including girls who don’t usually get involved in sports, give futsal a go. The Rutherford College girls were fantastic, cheering on the other teams and creating a supportive atmosphere. All in all, it was a brilliant day out and a memorable experience for everyone involved. Special thanks to Mr. Martin for helping the teams out on the day.
