Te wiki o te reo Māori
Kia ora te whanau o te kotuku, Nau mai Hare mai, Ko Gary Moore toku ingoa.
Kia kaha te reo Māori, let us make Māori language stronger.
One of my favourite Whakatauki is:
One of the things I admire about people with the most success is the harder they work and the greater the success the less they talk about themselves.
The following whakatauki has always resonated with me.
“Kāore te kumara e kōrero mō tōna ake reka” translation – The kumara (sweet potato) does not say how sweet he is.
Something to ponder.
The photo shows a fast race between dogs and a cheetah, the goal was to see who was the fastest. Everyone was surprised that the cheetah did not budge from its place. We asked the race coordinator what happened. After seeing this picture, he replied:
Sometimes trying to prove that you are the best is an insult. The cheetah uses its speed only to hunt, not to prove to the dogs that it is the fastest and strongest.” Don't waste your time proving your worth, your time, your self-worth is more important than the image of you they hold. People know that a kumara is sweet.
As always strive for personal excellence and spend your time working on what really matters, developing your human capital and being the best that you can be.
