Junior Exams and Revision Process
This week at Year 9 and 10 assembly I went over some ideas about how students can plan their study programme and some ideas about how to break it down into manageable chunks. This year we have seen over 10,000 hits on the Rutherford study site which is great to see. Thank you to Ms Donald (Associate Principal) and the Curriculum Leaders who have been instrumental in creating this resource for students and to assist whanau to have something to direct their young people to. The study site is available to anyone. Rutherford College Study Site
You can download a weekly study planner here to use. Make sure it is placed somewhere prominent in order to prompt you to prepare for these exams a little bit each day.
Year 10 English Digital Exam
The Year 10 English exam on Friday 22 November is a digital exam. We will have a limited number of school chromebooks available for students who do not have their own. Students who can supply their own device must bring it to the exam. Paper copies of the exam will be available for students who forget their device or choose not to bring it. Devices must:
• Already be registered on the school wifi. Please do not send a device that has never been used at school before.
• Have a minimum 7-inch screen and physical keyboard. Tablets with on-screen keyboards are not suitable.
• Be fully charged as students will not be able to charge devices during the exam.
Please complete this survey about your student's device status. https://forms.gle/MdyLh2bbvq3VRdzg8.

Growth Mindset words of Wisdom
These maybe of of use when we are trying to motivate our young people to take on a challenge that at first glance feels too big.
“A certain amount of opposition is a great help to a person. Kites rise against, not with the wind.” - John Neal
“Continuous effort-not strength or intelligence is the key to unlocking our potential.” -Winston Churchill
“There is no comparison between that which is lost by not succeeding and that which is lost by not trying.” - Francis Bacon
Admin Building Progress
Progress continues on the building of the new administration block at the front of the school. As with any building it seems that progress is slow at the beginning while the site gets prepared and then we will see accelerated progress as we look forward to the slab being laid and the building growing in front of our eyes.
Attached are the some photos of the progress on the ground work and an internal image of what we are working towards. Most of the current work is about services and drainage installation.
Board Community Consultation.
It's time to have your say and provide feedback for the School Board. The board are interested in hearing from staff, students and whanau to help them assess how the school is doing and to provide some information to assist in the preparation of the strategic plan. The survey is only 9 questions and should take 10 minutes or less to complete. We appreciate your support and input. Board Community Survey
