The Auckland Secondary School Tough Guy/Gal Challenge

The Auckland Secondary School Tough Guy/Gal Challenge is an annual event that tests students' physical stamina through a gruelin obstacle course.

The event was held at the Kumeu show grounds that attracted participants from schools across the region. Rutherford College showed up in force with 30 students eager to take on the challenge.

Throughout the challenge, our students tackled a range of obstacles, including slogging through muddy terrain, challenging cargo nets and tunnels. And let's not forget the abundance of glorious mud that awaits them at every turn.

However, their spirit remained undeterred as they supported and encouraged each other along the way. What made the event even more remarkable was the sheer enjoyment radiating from our students.

While 30 students took on the tough obstacle course, it wasn't just them who brought the heat. Four fine-tuned machines- staff members (Mr White, Mr Gilmour, Mrs Ruha and Miss Kerr) also decided to throw their hats in the ring, adding a dash of competition to the mix. Their presence ignited a friendly rivalry amongst them, which added an extra element of excitement and competitiveness.

Among the standout performances from Rutherford College was Dylan Chapman, who secured an impressive third-place finish in the junior division.

Kudos to all participants from Rutherford! This course is not for the faint-hearted, but each and every one of you continued to give your all. Well done, Rutherford participants!
