Junior Tag Tournament

On Tuesday 7th November we had two teams compete at the College Sport Central North Western Tag Football tournament held at Moire Park. The morning started with great weather and a win for the girls team in their first ever game. As the day progressed, although the weather got worse, students didn’t let the rain dampen their day. Both teams had some great wins, and the teamwork and camaraderie was wonderful to see.  

The boys ended up 9th and the girls 6th out of 16 schools – seriously impressive given this tournament is the first time these students have played Tag together. We look forward to seeing these teams progress over their next few years at Rutherford! Congratulations to all involved.  A huge thank you to Paxton Maligi, Deb Power and Harrison Sanders for taking the students for the day, and to all those that made it along to support the students.
