Junior Volleyball Championships

On Wednesday 15th, Thursday 16th and Friday 17th we had two Junior teams consisting of 21 students participate in the College Sport Auckland Junior Volleyball Championships at Pulman Park in Takanini.  Our teams, one girls and one boys, competed against schools from around Auckland, putting in impressive performances against strong competition. The boys had some great successes, with wins against Ormiston Junior College and Hobsonville Point, and held their own against strong Volleyball schools such as Westlake Boys and Rangitoto College, finishing 16th overall out of 48 teams.  

The girls had some very close games against Waiuku College and Carmel with only a couple of points keeping them from victory, and came up against the familiar faces of Green Bay in their final, unfortunately losing by just two points in the third set.  We are very proud of how the students represented themselves and played for the school. Thank you very much to Nathan Matai'a for coaching the boys all season and driving them to the champs, Taito Aisake for coaching the girls teams all season, and Tim Mafi, Lorenzo Pearce and Archie Bulloch for their contribution to Junior Volleyball.
