Roma Smashes it in Cricket

Roma Bowers Fleming kicked off her summer with a fantastic streak of success, bagging numerous cricketing achievements. 

In December 2023 Roma was invited to play for the Central District U19 Women’s team, Roma also contributed significantly to a second-place finish in the Summer Series U17 Cricket Tournament.  Her talent was also seen when she played for the Pasifika Secondary Schools team against the Cook Island International team, a match that paved the way for an invitation to join the Kuki Airani International Team. Despite being ineligible to participate in this year's Cup series due to her age, Roma has been chosen to join the squad in preparation for next year's international team, where she will meet the age requirements. 

Additionally, Roma’s inclusion in the Pasifika Secondary Schools 2024 team, set to face the NZ Māori Secondary Schools team this week, showcases her bright future in the cricketing world. The Rangatahi Cricket Festival features three days of intense matches at Cornwall Park in Auckland. The event promises heightened competition and cultural enrichment for aspiring Pasifika cricketers in Auckland.
