Athletics Day 2024

Athletics Day 2024

Athletics Day 2024

Even the threat of a rainy day could not dampen the spirits of the students as they started flooding the field for the annual school Athletics Day. As soon as the starting pistol goes off for the 1500m races and the first javelin gets thrown for the morning, athletics day is kicked into high gear with lots of excitement and energy! The tug-o-war was a highlight with battles between houses, as well as a showdown between staff and students. Even though the students tried their hardest, they couldn’t overpower the mana of the staff whom were victorious in both contests!

The crowd was brought to their feet surrounding the relay events with everyone rallying behind their respective houses, eagerly anticipating to see who will cross the finish line first. Combining both the junior and seniors (plus staff) relay races, Tama-nui-te-rā claimed the top spot, closely followed by Ruaumoko, while Tāne Mahuta secured the third position.
