Rubbing shoulder with some of the best Athletes

On Sunday 10th March, six students from our college had the privilege of volunteering at the International Athletic meet held at Douglas track. This prestigious event gathered elite international athletes competing for a chance to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Our students were grateful for the opportunity to witness such high-level competition and even participated in a tug of war with local children.

We extend our gratitude to Athletics New Zealand for allowing our students to be part of this significant event. The experience of being surrounded by sporting excellence has left a lasting impact on them.

The feedback we received about our students was commendable, with many acknowledging them as a credit to Rutherford College.

We want to express our thanks to Timon Boyack, Alex Buchanan, Cameron Deo, Isaac Lee Sang, Tio Riki, and Ihsan Sameen Rafin for dedicating their time and representing our college with pride.
