Novice Wrestling Tournament

Rutherford sent a team of 14 new wrestlers to the novice wrestling competition at Liston College last Thursday. For most of them it was their first competitive match and while they were lacking in experience, they did their best to make up for that in enthusiasm. Many of them asked for extra matches after the formal competition was over and impressed the referees with their grit and tenacity.

We look forward to the Auckland Champs in term two when our experienced wrestlers get to compete alongside the newer members.

Training is Wednesday after school in the top gym.
