On Sunday, July 21st, 20 enthusiastic Year 9 students set off for Tongariro, ready for an exciting Hillary Adventure. Despite some initial nerves due to the uncertainty of what lay ahead, the girls embraced the experience with open minds, eager for the challenges and adventures that awaited them.
Throughout the week, the students participated in a variety of activities designed to test their limits and foster teamwork and resilience. The girls took part in kayaking, navigated high and low ropes courses, and went on bushwalks. One of the highlights was a snow adventure, offering a unique and exhilarating experience for many who had never seen snow before. The week also included an overnight excursion, providing the students with an opportunity to bond over campfires and starlit skies.
A special thank you goes out to Tania Wilson and Deb Powell, who served as the camp mothers for the week. Their commitment to nurturing and supporting the students was invaluable, ensuring that each girl felt safe and cared for throughout the adventure.
The students returned on Friday 26th July, filled with stories of their week-long journey. They brought back not only amazing memories but also newfound friendships that will last well beyond this experience.
