Eight of our students proudly represented Rutherford College at the Auckland Road Race Championships held at Bruce Pulman Park on Tuesday, 13th August. The sun was shining, and the atmosphere was electric as our runners faced some very tough competition. Each student gave their all, showcasing determination and perseverance. Congratulations to everyone for taking on this challenge and stepping out of their comfort zone.
The event saw over 350 students from 36 schools competing across various grades, from Junior Girls to Senior Boys. The Intermediate Boys' category was the largest, with just over 100 competitors.
Among the standout performances, Connor McKechnie and Khai Robbins truly shone in the Junior Boys' category. Battling it out with 64 other runners, they posted remarkable times of 15:48 and 15:53, finishing just two and a half minutes behind the race leader. Their efforts were nothing short of impressive, and we’re incredibly proud of their achievements.
